Fish farm in Trakų Vokė (Lithuania)

Trakų Vokė Manor combines French elegance, cutting-edge 19th-century science, and wild Baltic nature.

While architecture lovers flock to the magnificent palace, technical enthusiasts and tourists alike praise the unique system of ponds here. Historically one of the most innovative aquaculture centers in the region, this system of ponds has transformed from a commercial exporter into a key cultural, ecological and recreational monument. Today, it is fully integrated into the restored Trakų Vokė estate complex.

A system of interconnected ponds and reservoirs was built here at the end of the 19th century by Count Jonas Vytautas Emanuelis Tiškevičius.

The pioneering technology for intensive fish farming was designed by world-renowned biologist Mykolas Kazimieras Girdvainis. This prominent Lithuanian ichthyologist, beekeeper and naturalist, who lived from 1841 to 1925, is considered the pioneer of modern fishing and fish farming in Lithuania.

Since 2014, the Vilnius City Hall has been overseeing the gradual restoration of the entire estate.

The aim of the reconstruction is to preserve the original layout designed by the famous French landscape architect Édouard André, who used these water bodies for both aesthetic and functional purposes.

The specialized workplace Trakų Vokė falls under the Fisheries Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania (Žuvininkystės tarnyba), where it continues to operate fish farming in renovated ponds, for which we had the honor of supplying our Czech blowers and the KUBÍČEK aeration system.

A total of 8 pcs of the 3D19S-050E type in stainless steel acoustic covers for outdoor installation and 32 pcs of our proven portable heavy loaded aeration diffusers equipped with our fine-bubble membrane ensure reliable year-round operation of the plants.

We implemented the project thanks to cooperation with our Lithuanian partner, Infes Tech.
