WWTP in Italy – Pipe silencers DN100

At the end of 2024, we were asked by the Italian wastewater treatment plant operator to help them deal with excessive noise entering the pipeline from newly installed blowers from another manufacturer.

The noise, which exceeded 80 dB in the vicinity of the WWTP and was in the high frequency spectrum, was the subject of repeated complaints.

The main cause of these high values was insufficient damping of pulsations in the discharge silencers of the blower sets.

In cooperation with the operator, we selected the most suitable position for the installation of 2 pcs of DN100 KUBÍČEK pipe silencers, in all stainless steel, each with an effective length of 1200 mm.

The design of these silencers is absorptive, where the internal composition of the silencing liner prevents degradation and “loss” of material, thus ensuring unlimited life and efficiency across the full spectrum of blower regulation range.

The very easy installation of the silencers was done by the customer on his own at the beginning of 2025.

The resulting reduction in noise levels in the area in front of the WWTP, exceeded all expectations, see video below…

The silencers were installed directly into the pipe route, as close to the blowers as possible. The interconnection was made by means of flexible compensators with metal cladding.

The noise problem has been solved and we have another successful reference and satisfied customer behind us.
