University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice – Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters – Experimental and Fish Breeding Hall of the Laboratory of Intensive Aquaculture FROV JU Vodňany

The last project of our chovateleryb.cz platform, for the FROV in Vodnany consisted in the design of the refurbishment of 2 biofilters, which are part of the experimental double line RAS.

The hall is used for production of juvenile perch, especially common candace. This building also provides space for experiments, approaching the production capacity of fish farms.

The hall has a total rearing capacity of 38 cubic metres and 30 cubic metres of biological filter with a moving bed. It also works with ozone technology, UV light and oxygen gas saturation. And it produces about 70,000 juvenile common candace fish annually, ranging in size from 10 to 200g.

Our proposal for the intensification of the biofilters, envisaged the replacement of the main air source and the supply of aeration diffusers.

The installation of the new technology then had to take place with the hall in full operation.

We equipped the KUBÍČEK ROOTS blower – type 3D19S-050E with a stainless steel acoustic cover, resistant to very high permanent humidity. The biofilter is newly equipped with KUBÍČEK fine bubble aeration diffusers – type ATE65DG with built-in weight.

Compared to the original equipment, our new solution has more than 60% less power consumption, with almost double the amount of air supplied.
