KUBÍČEK screw blowers cut costs twice over at the Náchod WWTP

The unique design advantage of KUBÍČEK screw blowers enables an efficient upgrade of aging conventional Roots-type blowers.

By integrating a new bare-shaft unit from the modern and energy-efficient SD series, you get a state-of-the-art machine without having to purchase an entirely new unit. 

Our screw blowers feature flanges aligned on the same axis. They operate without the need for additional vacuum pumps, oil pumps, coolers, or superfluous electronics.

We carry out the conversion of a suitable existing blower into an energy-efficient and quieter screw unit directly on-site, without the need to remove it from its position.

🛠️ What options will the upgrade bring you?

During the renovation, you can choose one of two economic benefits.

Option A: Higher performance – Increase in flow rate (Q) by approx. 15% while maintaining the original power input.

Option B: Lower consumption – Maintaining the same output (Q) and an immediate 15–20% reduction in electricity consumption.

In both cases, the original electric motor and the existing variable frequency drive (VFD) are retained, and no modifications to the electrical wiring or the wastewater treatment plant control system are required.

In Náchod, they decided to pursue a strategy of reducing operating costs – specifically, lowering electricity consumption while maintaining the original Q-value.

At the Poděbrady wastewater treatment plant, we increased the achievable output Q value and the pressure differences while maintaining the same power input.

At the Vitošov Lime Plant, for instance, modifications resolved the need to increase the available differential pressure for pneumatic conveying.

💰 Why do you save on costs twice over?

Lower investment (CAPEX): Purchasing the retrofit itself – featuring a modern bare shaft unit – is significantly less expensive than buying entirely new equipment. At the same time, you receive a full warranty on the new unit.

Immediate savings (OPEX): Immediately after startup, the blower begins generating financial savings on electricity consumption.
